The Sabores do Velho restaurant was founded in 1985 and is located in the parish of Capelas, belonging to the municipality of Ponta Delgada. It is a family restaurant inspired by traditional Portuguese cuisine and with appealing dishes, some of which are cooked in a wood oven, namely our famous octopus, squid à casa, bacalhau de natas.
We are advocates of experiencing new flavors in combination with tradition. We always choose regional ingredients for the preparation of our dishes and the quality of raw materials from the Azores, which results in the fantastic combination of flavors that you can try in our restaurant.
The friendliness of our staff is one of the characteristics of the restaurant, so you can be sure that you will be well received and that you will feel comfortably at home.
We have meals for all tastes, at attractive prices, including regional steak with ancestral sauce, in the wood oven, octopus, house squid, cream cod. fresh grilled limpets, famous sausage with fried corn bread, black pudding with pineapple from the Azores and many more options for you.
